I’m an enthusiastic environmentalist who wants to help and support the transition towards a more sustainable and green society. To achieve that, a better understanding and management of nature are essential, and here at Cobra we work with that goal in mind.
My focus is the processing and analysis of remote sensing data, especially LiDAR point clouds, in order to identify, map, and describe every single tree.
Among all trees, my favorite is Corkscrew Willow (Salix babylonica ‘Tortuosa’). Back in Italy we used to have one in our little garden, and many memories of my youth are connected to that tree. It used to protect us from the sun in hot summers, and during windy days it kept us company with the calming sound of its rustling branches. That was also the first tree that I pruned. Year after year my brother and I were making sure that our tree could keep growing healthy and strong with its twisted branches and graceful leaves.
